- Was confirmed by the co-founder Anupam Thareja
- Will be delivered according to the booking sequence
- Deliveries of single-channel ABS models have already begun
Classic Legends is all set to begin the deliveries of the dual-channel ABS models of the Jawa Standard and Jawa Forty Two towards the end of this month. The confirmation came from the co-founder of the brand, Anupam Thareja, on social media while responding to a buyer’s query about the deliveries of the motorcycle.
The company had launched the Jawa Standard and the Forty Two in November 2018 and, had initiated the bookings at the same time. A month after the launch, the company had closed the online bookings stating that the bike was booked until September. However, bookings are being accepted at the Jawa dealerships. While deliveries of the single-channel ABS bikes had commenced in March, the dispatch of dual-channel ABS variants are yet to commence. Going by the confirmation of the top honcho, the bikes will be delivered to the customers as per the booking sequence.
Classic Legends currently has over 100 dealerships across India. Despite the rapid expansion in terms of dealers, the current waiting period for the bikes stand between six to nine months, depending on the city. The company attributes this delay in dispatches to the slow supply from the vendor’s end. Reports suggest that Classic Legends is trying to accelerate the production to meet the demands.
The dual-channel ABS variants of the Jawa Standard and the Forty Two are priced at Rs 1.72 lakhs and Rs 1.63 lakhs, respectively. This is a premium of around Rs 8,000 over the single-channel ABS models of the bikes. While the company currently has two products in its portfolio, it is set to launch the bobber Perak by the end of this year.
