The Jawa Kommuniti Kustom, which was hosted on Instagram, saw massive participation, and the brand claims that over half a million users interacted in some form. The contest was held between 29 April and 3 May 2020. It aimed to enhance community engagement.
The contest was recently concluded and Soheil Kalarickal, an art director from Bangalore topped the scoreboard for his rendition of a Jawa Forty-Two. Kalarickal reimagined the retro-style motorcycle as a mix of brat and café racer. Milind Solanki’s Cockatrice, a classic adventure tourer, bagged the first runner-up position. Shri Lohar's minimalistic sports-scrambler was the second runner-up.
The winner will get a custom hand-painted commemorative Jawa fuel tank. All three on the podium will be awarded signed copies of “The Forever Bike” coffee table book. All three will also get an opportunity to intern with the company’s Design Team at its headquarters and a chance to turn their design concepts into reality.
In other updates, Classic Legends has published the technical specifications for the BS6-compliant Jawa and Forty-Two. The latest iterations of the retro-style motorcycles have already started to arrive at the dealerships.
