- Jawa motorcycles production suspended due to Coronavirus outbreak
- Jawa Standard and Forty Two deliveries to be majorly delayed
- Perak deliveries won’t commence on 2 April as announced earlier
Classic Legends has announced that it has temporarily stopped production of Jawa motorcycles at its Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh. The step has been taken as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic which has affected a huge part of India.
The company has stated that due to the major disruption in supply of components, the production has been heavily affected over the last three weeks. The company receives several parts of Jawa models from component makers located in Tier II cities of India and in China. With these suppliers closing down operations, the dispatches of Jawa motorcycles from the factory have witnessed a suspension which is likely to continue in April as well.
Classic Legends has three motorcycles in its portfolio. Owing to the aforementioned issues, the deliveries of the Jawa Standard and Forty Two have seen a major obstruction in the month of February and March in India. Meanwhile, the Perak bobber which was launched in November last year won’t be ready for deliveries from 2 April, the timeline given by the company during its launch.
The company asserted that it will announce a definitive delivery schedule for all the bikes as soon as the situation gets under control. Moreover, Classic Legends will also work on increasing the production capacity up to 10,000 units a month once the operations are back on track.
