A year after it was unveiled in November 2018, the Jawa Perak has finally been launched in India at Rs 1.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). That makes it the most affordable bobber-styled motorcycle in the country. The stunning Jawa was launched in Mumbai and we had the chance to get up close with it and capture the bike through our lenses. In that case, we bring you the detailed image gallery of the Perak.
The motorcycle boasts of a quintessential bobber stance with a low-slung profile, long wheelbase, single seat and chopped front and rear fenders.
Starting up front, it sports a round headlamp unit housing a conventional bulb, which looks identical to the Jawa Standard. However, the Perak gets a blacked-out bezel as opposed to the Standard’s chrome-finished nacelle.
Tucked in its headlamp casing is an old-school circular analogue instrument cluster comprising of speedometer and fuel meter. It also integrates a small digital display for odometer.
Embodying its vintage theme is the teardrop-shaped fuel tank flaunting the ‘Jawa’ branding on the sides and golden pinstriping at the centre.
Lending it a typical hard tail bobber look is a tan-coloured floating seat which blends seamlessly with the overall styling of the Perak.
A puny circular tail lamp has been placed under the floating seat which is in-line with the minimalistic styling of the motorcycle.
Clinging on to its double-cradle frame is 334cc, liquid-cooled motor which is compliant with the BS-VI emission norms. Having a larger displacement than the Standard and Forty-Two’s mill, this powerplant also churns out more power at 30bhp and 31Nm of torque.
Damping duties on the Perak are handled by conventional forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, hiding under the seat. The latter also gets pre-load adjustability.
For braking, the motorcycle comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends assisted by dual-channel ABS which comes as standard.
Jawa will begin online bookings for the Perak from 1 January 2020 while deliveries are set to commence from 2 April.
