- Jawa launched bobber-styled Perak at Rs 1.94 lakhs
- Booking will commence from 1 January 2020
- Deliveries to start from 2 April
Jawa has launched its new bobber-styled motorcycle, the Perak, a year after it was unveiled at the brand’s launch on 15 November 2018. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 1.94 lakhs, which is Rs 5,000 more than the pricing Jawa had announced last year. Bookings for the bike will open on 1 January 2020 through the brand’s official website while deliveries will begin from 2 April.
Staying true to its bobber theme, the Perak sports a low-slung profile with a long wheelbase. It evokes a retro charm with a bunch of styling elements such as a round headlamp, single-piece straight handlebar, peanut-shaped fuel tank and brown-coloured floating seat. However, the blacked-out treatment on most of its components lend it a modern appeal. The Perak is equipped with a conventional lighting setup while the round instrument cluster with a small digital display has been borrowed from the Standard model.
Powering the motorcycle is a BS-VI-compliant 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which is a larger derivative of the Standard and Forty-Two’s 293cc mill. It churns out more power at 30bhp and 31Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is based on a double-cradle chassis which is a tweaked version of the Standard’s frame while the swingarm is all new.
In terms of competition, the Jawa Perak will compete against the Royal Enfield Classic 500 in India.
