Jawa Motorcycles had auctioned 13 units of the first lot of its production bikes in March under the company’s ‘Forever Heroes’ fundraiser initiative. Through this auction, the brand raised Rs 1.49 crores and handed over the accumulated funds to Kendriya Sainik Board, Ministry of Defence. The money will reportedly be utilised in providing financial support to the education of children of martyrs of Indian armed forces. The funds were handed over at a joint ceremony in the presence of armed forces veterans, war heroes and officers.
Classic Legends has resurrected the Jawa brand in India with the launch of two motorcycles – the Jawa standard and the Jawa Forty Two. Both the modern classic bikes are powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which churns out 27bhp of power and 28Nm of peak torque. Through its official twitter account, Jawa recently revealed that both the bikes have ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 37.5kmpl.
Classic Legends has been aggressive with the Jawa dealership expansion plans as it has already established 95 showrooms in 77 cities across India. The company had commenced the online bookings of its bikes on 15 November, when the bikes were launched in our country. However, Classic Legends commenced the deliveries of Jawa motorcycles towards the end of last month.
