Classic Legends have announced the launch of the BS6 compliant Jawa Standard and the Forty-Two. The prices for the BS6 compliant Jawa motorcycles range between Rs 1,60,300 and Rs 1,83,170. Here we list the alternatives to the Jawa Standard and the Forty-Two BS6 that buyers can consider in the same price range.
For about Rs 11,000 more than the dual-channel variant of the Jawa Standard, buyers can opt to purchase the Perak Bobber. The most premium motorcycle in Classic Legend’s portfolio is available in a single variant, and it is priced at Rs 1,94,500. For that price, buyers get a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 30bhp of power and 31Nm of torque.
Royal Enfield’s highest-selling model, the Classic 350, is available in multiple colour options. The prices vary depending on the colour selected. The standard version is priced at Rs 1,65,025 while the most premium variants, the Chrome and Stealth paint options, are available at Rs 1,81,727. The Classic 350 features a 346cc, single-cylinder motor that delivers 19.1bhp and 28Nm.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 has been launched in India, and the adventure tourer is available at a competitive price tag of Rs 1,86,811 (Granite Black colour). Similar to the Classic 350, the prices of the BS6 Himalayan vary depending on the colour option selected, and the most premium variants (Rock Red and Lake Blue paint options) are available at Rs 1,91,401. The motorcycle is powered by a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Svartpilen 250
Swedish motorcycle brand, Husqvarna made its debut in the Indian market with the launch of the Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250. Both, the Vitpilen 250 café-racer and the Svartpilen 250 scrambler are available at introductory prices of Rs 1,80,000. Premium hardware specifications include upside-down telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, digital instrument cluster and full-LED lighting. The Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250 are powered by a 248.76cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 29.5bhp and 24Nm.
Buyers looking to purchase a motorcycle that boasts of modern styling and premium equipment can check the KTM 200 Duke that is available at Rs 1,71,917. The 200cc Austrian roadster received a comprehensive styling upgrade with the BS6 transition. Visual upgrades include a 1290 SuperDuke R inspired design that is complemented by premium hardware such as digital display, upside-down telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The motorcycle uses a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 24.7bhp and 19.3Nm.
People looking for a sporty motorcycle should check out the KTM RC 200. The fully-faired motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,96,128. The RC 200 shares its BS6 compliant motor with the 200 Duke. However, the RC model benefits from a fully-faired design. Moreover, the motorcycle also features a clip-on style handlebar that gives it a forward-leaning riding position.
Prices and availability of the Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 are yet to be announced, and thus we have not included those models in this list.
