Juan Pedrero Garcia and Oriol Mena put up a blistering performance to secure a spot in the top 10 in the Stage 13 of Dakar 2018. While Oriol has also broken into the top-10 in the overall rankings, Juan is currently placed 11th.
Oriol, a 30-year-old Spaniard finished in the eight position in Stage 13, and holds the eighth spot in the overall rankings. What is even more surprising is that this is Oriol’s first ever Dakar rally. While Portugese racer Joaquim Rodrigues was Hero Speedbrain’s top contender, he had to retire in the first stage itself after a major crash. Nevertheless, Oriol seems to be on track in helping the Indian team achieve its first ever top-10 finish in the Dakar rally.
Juan Pedrero Garcia, the only Sherco TVS rider on the grid, finished 5th in the Stage 13, and is currently placed 11th in the overall rankings. He also seems very close to helping the Indian team achieve its goal of a top-10 finish in the Dakar rally. The only Indian rider on the grid, CS Santosh has been battling crashes and injuries since the past couple of stages. Nevertheless, the determinant 34-year-old finished 33rd in the Stage 13 and stands 34th in the overall rankings. The Stage 14 will be the final stage of the Dakar 2018 rally. The 286 kilometre sprint will be held in and around the capital province of Cordoba.
