Juan Pedrero Garcia put out another brilliant performance in the sixth stage of the Dakar rally, finishing in the 15th position. Meanwhile, Hero Speedbrain also had a good run with Oriol Mena and CS Santosh finishing 22nd and 37th respectively.
With Adrien Metge and Aravind KP having retired from the rally, Juan Pedrero Garcia is the only Sherco TVS rider on the grid. Although he crossed the finish line in the 13th position, a one-hour penalty saw hime drop to 15th. With this finish, he has retained the 15th spot in the overall rankings, while Oriol Mena climbed from the 21st to 20th position. CS Santosh seems to have found his pace, as he significantly improved his performance, from 51st in Stage 5 to 37th in Stage 6. Overall, he has retained the 52nd position.
The sixth stage took the riders from Peru into Bolivia, bidding farewell to the sand dunes and the desert for now. The 760 kilometre stage took the competitors from Arequipa to Bolivian capital, La Paz. Here the competitors will now take a well-deserved break for a day as they acclimatise themselves to the altitude. The Stage 7 will be a 727 kilometre route which will take the competitors to Uyuni. From here on, the route will take the riders to higher altitude through sections which are at a height of 4,722 metres above sea level.
