Kannan took a huge win in the Open category, comfortably beating closest challenger Jaden Gunawardena by over three seconds in Race 1 on Saturday. The rider from Chennai also secured victory in the second race of this third round of the TVS RTR Apache championship.
According to a report, in the first race Gunawardena was involved in a close fight with Arvind Ganesh for first and second. Gunawardena took second while Arvind settled for third. Rahil Peerzade finished fourth, John Paul finished fifth and T Ramakrishnan took the sixth spot. Vivek Pillai crashed out in lap 4.
In Race 2, Kannan took his second consecutive win. Kannan was dominant throughout, winning by a margin of over 14 seconds from Pillai, who finished second. Ramakrishnan took third while Gunawardena finished fourth followed by Ganesh who took fifth.
Yashas RL won Race 1 of the Novice category on Friday from Hari Prasath and Kamran Alam, with the same trio repeating the result in Race 2 on Saturday.
