Kawasaki India silently launched its latest cruiser offering in India, the Eliminator. It rivals quite a few popular names in the country, and if you are planning to purchase the Eliminator, then here are some of its highlights you need to know.
Design
The Eliminator’s design is that of a thoroughbred cruiser. It gets a raked-out front end with a round LED headlight, a wide fuel tank, and a split seat. Kawasaki is offering the bike in a single-tone paint scheme of Metallic Flat Spark Black. When compared to the Vulcan S, the Eliminator looks more retro and slightly taller too.
Features
Kawasaki has offered a decent list of features with the new Eliminator cruiser. It gets full LED illumination and a fully digital screen with all the necessary readouts, as well as smartphone connectivity. The latter gives you access to SMS and call notifications. The list of safety aids includes dual-channel ABS and a side stand sensor.
Hardware
The Eliminator’s hardware includes a trellis frame suspended on conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Then, its brakes include a single 310mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with ABS. This setup is mounted on an 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel wrapped in a 130/70 front and 150/80 rear tyre, respectively. For reference, the Eliminator weighs 176kg and has a seat height of 735mm. Overall, it should be quite convenient even for shorter riders to flat foot on the Eliminator.
Engine
Powering the new Kawasaki cruiser is a 451cc, parallel-twin engine. It makes 44.7bhp and 38Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. This seems to be a new motor developed by Kawasaki and has a long stroke to suit its cruising purpose.
Price and Rivals
Kawasaki has priced the Eliminator at Rs. 5,62,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Benelli 502C.
