Kawasaki ER6n coming soon to India through CKD

India Kawasaki Motors has been following quite an aggressive manufacturing policy, proof being the number of motorcycles it launched last year. The Japanese manufacturer is looking to do the same this year with the launch of the Kawasaki Z800 that has been priced impressively at Rs 7.9 lakh ex-showroom.  We also broke the story of the Z250 launch this year, which will be followed by the ER-6n launch.  

The ER-6n was recently showcased at the 2014 Bangkok Motor Show. This naked version of the Ninja 650 is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled four-stroke parallel twin engine that develops 72bhp at 8500 rpm and a peaktorque of 64Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine of the bike is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The ER-6n will be sold in India through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route and will be assembled at Bajaj’s Akurdi facility. The ER-6n will be positioned below the Ninja 650 and the price will be marginally less than the faired version. The only competition it will have in that price range is the Hyosung GT650N which looks very un-inspiring unlike the ER-6n.
