As per Visordown, the company has filed over 10 patents over the last three months showing the various electric motorcycle designs. These designs show the trellis frame and sports bike geometry. Kawasaki's electric bike patents were first revealed in 2012, but 10 designs in just three months, makes us believe that the company is going full throttle with its electric motorcycle plan.
The sketches show different possible positions within the chassis for a huge battery pack. One design features a detachable section of frame tubes, allowing easy removal of the battery. While the company has applied for Ninja R2 trademark, few are reporting that Kawasaki has also applied for the Ninja E2 and the E2R trademark. However, we have failed to see any proof on the web. But if this is correct, Kawasaki is following the naming convention of the supercharged motorcycle, the Ninja H2 and H2R and it makes complete sense because of the brand value which has increased tremendously over the last few months.
Kawasaki is tight-lipped about this electric motorcycle and we can expect it to make its way to 2015 EICMA.
