Kawasaki has announced that the Ninja H2 will be launched in India on April 3. The Ninja H2 will break cover at the Buddha International Circuit in Delhi, which should provide the ideal backdrop for the Japanese manufacturer’s fastest road-legal motorcycle.
The Ninja H2, like its track-only counterpart – the Ninja H2R, is built around a tubular trellis frame which is garnished in Kawasaki’s trademark green paint. As opposed to the bare carbon fibre bodywork seen in the Ninja H2R, the Ninja H2’s bodywork gets a silver mirror paint finish to lend the bike a regal appeal.
The Ninja H2 is powered by an 998cc inline four supercharged engine which has been rated at 200 horsepower. Kawasaki globally also offers an optional Ram Air intake, which adds 10hp to the overall power output. Suspension duties are taken care of by fully adjustable KYB units at both the ends, while the braking hardware is made up of 330mm Brembo semi-floating discs at the front and 250mm units at the rear. To keep all the power under a leash, the Ninja H2 comes with a sophisticated electronics package consisting of a three-mode traction control, a three-mode launch control, engine brake control with KIBS intelligent braking system and a quick shifter.
Despite this formidable power figures and technology, the Ninja H2 is a heavy bike and tips the scales at 238 kilograms. While this might not make the Ninja H2 the fastest in its segment, the high price tag of around Rs 35 lakh will surely make the Ninja H2 a highly exclusive motorcycle. The Ninja H2 competes with the litre-class superbikes like the BMW S1000RR, Aprilia RSV4 Factory and the upcoming Ducati 1299 Panigale.
