India Kawasaki Motors will launch the Z1000 motorcycle tomorrow in Pune. The Z1000 will become the first non-moniker Ninja to be sold in India. And not just the Z1000, the company is also planning to launch the Ninja 1000 tomorrow at the same launch event.
We were the first to bring you the news of the Kawasaki Z1000 bookings that began last month and also about the Ninja 1000 that will be displayed at their Pune showroom. Our sources have informed us that the Japanese manufacturer is planning to launch the Ninja 1000 along with the Z1000.
The Kawasaki Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 are powered by the same 1,043cc inline-four liquid-cooled engine. However, the engines for both the bikes have been slightly remapped to deliver its segment performance. With these new bikes, Kawasaki India will extend its product portfolio to total of six motorcycles. They currently sell the Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Ninja ZX-10R and the ZX-14r. It looks like the company is going aggressive with their plans, with five bike launches in a single year.
Both the bikes will be priced very aggressively and way below the ZX-10R and the ZX-14R. Kawasaki will bring these bikes through completely-built-up (CBU) route for now. If they see a good demand, they might go for the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details on both the bikes from the launch event tomorrow.
