Kawasaki launched the Z800 for the Indian market in only one paint scheme - the all black green stickering. Now our sources have confirmed that the sport naked motorcycle will also be available in the candy green and black paint scheme.
What will set the two apart, visually, will be the green colour on the bikini fairing, fuel tank, engine belly pan, side panels and the rear seat. There are no other changes and the design of the bike remains the same. The motorcycle will be powered by the same four-stroke in-line four liquid-cooled 806cc engine that produces 113bhp of power and 83Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
Kawasaki has launched anniversary editions of motorcycles overseas but never launched them in India. The manufacturer has never ever "refreshed" a product in its life cycle for the Indian market and has stuck to its original design. The only time Kawasaki refreshed a product in India, was when the Ninja 650 was replaced by the 2013 version in tandem with the international market.
Apart from these two colours, the Z800 is also offered in white and orange colours in the international market. The addition of this new colour option should attract more enthusiasts and buyers for this mean looking motorcycle.
The Z800 goes head to head with the Triumph Street Triple in the Indian market and the new colour might seem be a move to counter the growing influence of the British manufacturer. Our sources have informed us that this new green and black coloured Z800 will soon reach the Kawasaki Wakdewadi showroom in Pune.
