Kawasaki launched the 2019 version of the KLX 140G in India at Rs 4.06 lakhs. We list out the other motorcycles you can buy in that price range.
The KLX 140 G is Kawasaki’s dirt bike targeted at beginner riders. The 2019 version of the bike was recently launched at Rs 4.06 lakhs but the lack of headlamp, mirrors and turn indicators means it is not road-legal. However, at that price point you have six road-legal motorcycles to choose from. Each of these motorcycles are also offered with an ABS unit as standard.
While the KLX 140G is competition focused, the list includes two bikes which are suitable off-road as well as on long hauls. Let’s begin with the Versys X-300. The bike sports a 296cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 38.7bhp and 25.7Nm of torque. It will cost you Rs 4.69 lakhs. On the other hand, there is the BMW G310 GS at Rs 3.49 lakhs. Powering the motorcycle is a 313cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 33bhp and 28Nm of torque.
If you are looking for a streetfighter, there is the Benelli TNT 300 which is priced at Rs 3.5 lakhs. The bike is powered by a 300cc, parallel-twin motor that is capable of producing 37.7bhp and 26.5Nm of torque. And if the streetfighter doesn’t amuse you, Benelli offers a fully-faired version of the TNT 300 in the form of the 302R. It is also powered by a 300cc, parallel twin engine although with a higher power output of 38.2bhp and 26.5Nm of torque. The bike is priced at Rs 3.7 lakhs.
There are two more fully-faired motorcycles in this list that you can consider; the Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400 priced at Rs 3.49 lakhs and Rs 4.69 lakhs respectively. The YZF-R3 uses a 321cc, parallel-twin engine that puts out 40.8bhp and 29.6Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Ninja 400’s 399cc, parallel-twin unit is capable of producing 47.5bhp and 38Nm of torque.
