- Offered in two paint schemes
- Powered by a 233cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine
- Rivals the Hero Xpulse 200 4V
Kawasaki has launched the KLX 230 in India at Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Japanese dual-sport sits as the smallest road-legal offering from the brand for the Indian market and here is what it offers.
In typical dual-sport motorcycle fashion, the KLX 230 gets a slim and rugged build. It get a hexagonal headlight with a plastic cow around it and a tall fender as well. The bike gets a narrow seat and an upswept exhaust. It uses an LCD and gets switchable dual-channel ABS as a standard fitment.
Powering the Kawasaki KLX 230 is a 233cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 18.1bhp and 18.3Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The KLX 230’s hardware comprises long travel telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the braking duties are done by a single front and rear disc mounted on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels. These come wrapped in road-biased tyres.
We have ridden the Kawasaki KLX 230 a couple of months ago and here is our review of it. At Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the KLX 230 is quite expensive and makes it difficult to justify the value for money. It rivals the Hero Xpulse 200 4V which costs less than half with all the bells and whistles and in the Dakar edition.
