- Spotted testing multiple times
- Features proper off-road hardware and design
- Will rival the Hero Xpulse 200 4V
After multiple teasers of the KLX 230 S, Kawasaki India has now posted another image hinting at the bike's launch. The date mentioned in the social media post is 17 October and we think the KLX 230 S will debut then.
The Kawasaki KLX 230 S has been spotted testing multiple times in India. We expect it to be localized here and thereby help Kawasaki price the KLX 230 S aggressively. On the design front, this is a heavily function-oriented offering. It gets minimal bodywork comprising a high-set fender, a small headlight with a cowl around, a single-piece narrow seat, and an upswept exhaust. The slim build and tall stance may be deceiving but the KLX 230 S’ seat height is 830mm and that’s not very high.
Powering the KLX 230 S is a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 19bhp and 20.3Nm. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.
On the hardware front, the Kwacker gets long travel gaitered telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the braking hardware comprises a front and rear disc brake. These are mounted on a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel.
Kawasaki could price the KLX 230 S at Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it will rival the Hero Xpulse 200 4V. The entry of KLX 230 S will provide off-road enthusiasts and beginners with a new option in the segment.
