Kawasaki has launched the 2019 versions of KX250 and KX450 motocross competition bikes in India. While the former is priced at Rs 7.43 lakhs, the latter costs Rs 7.79 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom, India). Changes have been made to the KX450's engine and cycle parts while the KX250 gets minor graphical alterations.
As for the updates on the 2019 KX450, the engine of the bike has been revised with the inclusion of a finger-follower valve actuation accompanied by hydraulic clutch and electric starter. Also, it is based on a new aluminium frame that is lighter and the traction control system has been improved.
The 2019 Kawasaki KX250 gets a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. It is suspended on 48mm telescopic forks on the front and uni-trak suspension at the rear. A 270mm petal disc on the front and a 240mm petal disc at the rear give it the stopping power.
Powering the 2019 KX450 is a 449cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC motor that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Braking duties are handled by a 270mm semi-floating disc on the front and a 250mm petal disc at the rear while 49mm adjustable USD forks on the front and adjustable uni-trak suspension at the rear take care of the suspension duties.
Both the bikes are available in the CBU form in India and can only be ridden around dirt tracks as they are not road-legal.
