- Kawasaki has launched the 2022 KX mini motocross range in the US
- Only available with a Lime Green colour option
- Unlikely to enter the Indian market
Kawasaki has extended its portfolio by launching the 2022 mini motocross range in the US. The lineup includes the new KX112 and the updated KX85 and KX65 motorcycles.
The new Kawasaki KX112 has undergone quite a few changes compared to its predecessor. The changes include a new 112cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine, a new six-speed transmission, factory-inspired styling with a flat fuel tank which further facilitates rider movement during difficult manoeuvres, a new shroud design to accommodate a wider range of riders and Dunlop MX33 tyres. The motorcycle is suspended by 36mm inverted forks at the front and Uni-Trak suspension at the rear. For braking, it employs a 220mm disc at the front gripped by a dual-piston caliper and a 184mm disc at the rear held by a single-piston caliper. It is only available in Light Green colour and is priced at USD 4,999 (Rs 3.65 lakh).
Kawasaki has also updated the KX85 which shares several new features with its bigger sibling the KX112. The updates include a new six-speed transmission, aggressive factory-inspired styling, a new radiator design for better cooling and Dunlop MX33 tyres. The motocross bike is powered by a single-cylinder two-stroke 84cc engine. It's only offered in a Lime Green colour option and is priced at USD 4,499 (Rs 3.29 lakh).
The most compact model in the 2022 motocross lineup is the KX65. The KX65 is powered by a liquid-cooled two-stroke 65cc engine that sits on a lightweight frame. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission that is used to transmit power to its wheels. The ride here is taken care of by 33mm adjustable front forks and Uni-Trak single-shock system at the rear. The motorcycle is similarly offered with only a Lime Green colour and is priced at USD 3,799 (Rs 2.78 lakh).
However, Kawasaki is unlikely to launch those motorcycles in the Indian market.
