- BS6-compliant Kawasaki Ninja 400 to debut today
- Gets new colours
- Will compete against the KTM RC 390
India Kawasaki Motor will widen its range of offerings with the 2022 Ninja 400 which is expected to be launched in India today. The motorcycle was discontinued a couple of years ago with the transition to BS6 emission norms.
So the biggest change to the 2022 Ninja 400 in India will be its BS6-compliant, 399cc, parallel-twin engine. The motor now produces 44bhp and 37Nm- which is slightly lower torque than before. Apart from a greener powertrain, the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 also gets new colour schemes internationally- Lime Green with Ebony (KRT Edition) and Metallic Carbon Gray with Metallic Matte Carbon Gray. And we can expect it to be offered in the same options in India as well.
However, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same in terms of hardware, styling and features. That said, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 will go up against the newly-launched KTM RC 390 which now receives a host of features. Moreover, the Ninja 400 will also cost a premium over the KTM and is also likely to be priced higher than the previous model that retailed at Rs 4.98 lakh, ex-showroom.
