- Kawasaki Eliminator 450 likely launch next week
- Teased on social networks
- Will compete against Super Meteor 650
Kawasaki is likely to launch a new motorcycle at the India Bike Week in Goa between 8-9 December. The brand has released teaser images on its social networks revealing only a smidge of what the motorcycle could be.
Going by the silhouette and the design of the front wheel, we expect the new offering to be the Kawasaki Eliminator 450 that is sold in international markets. Now, the Eliminator takes styling inspiration from the Vulcan S and comes with a laidback cruiser styling. However, the former is slightly more angular and comes with a relatively ‘sharp’ tail section.
Furthermore, it gets blacked-out components on the engine casing and frame. While the international-spec model gets fully black alloy wheels, the model that is expected to be launched in India could get rim stickers to add appeal. Powering the cruiser is a 451cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 49bhp and is tuned to deliver torque low down in the rev band. As for features, it gets an LCD display enclosed in a circular pod, dual-channel ABS and LED illumination for the headlamp and tail lamp.
While we are yet to know full details of the launch, we expect Kawasaki to price the new Eliminator 450 around the price of the Ninja 400 that retails at Rs 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom.
