Kawasaki has recalled 1083 Ninja 300 in United States due to potential ABS problem. It is believed that during the manufacturing process of the ABS pump, dust particles may have contaminated the component creating a potential for interference with the motorcycle’s anti-lock function. Because of this, the anti-lock-braking-system (ABS) of these motorcycles could partially or completely loose its functionality.
Reports suggest that the owners of the Ninja 300 may face issues while braking where there is the possibility of the locking up of front or rear wheel which might increase the risk of crash. The affected motorcycles were manufactured between August 2, 2012 and April 2, 2013. The company will contact affected customers and the dealers will inspect the motorcycles and replace the ABS pumps free of charge if found necessary.
Owners of the motorcycle in India won’t be affected by this recall as the Kawasaki Ninja 300 sold here are not equipped with ABS.
