Kawasaki India has gone ahead and updated both their 650 twins. The Japanese manufacturer updated the Ninja 650 with the new colour scheme earlier this year. Recently, the ER-6n got a new sticker-job as well. However, the big change is the updated sportier tyres.
Kawasaki is known to update the colour schemes on their motorcycles every year. However, this time around the manufacturer appears to have gone overboard with the graphics on the faired twin this year. The Ninja 650 has lost its trademark Kawasaki lettering on the lower fairing for some glossy silver paint, the bike also let go of its famous green for large portions of black and silver coloured surfaces. Even though the Ninja 650 pictured above doesn’t appear to be sitting on the new tyres, be rest assured that a newer model motorcycle will ride on it.
The ER-6n already features both, the new tyres as well as the new sticker-job. The new graphics on the naked twin was a much needed update on what was a rather bland looking motorcycle. The green highlights on the side fairings as well as the tank really accentuate the styling of the motorcycle. The naked motorcycle now rides on a green coloured shock instead of the red as before, the ER-6n also features matching green rim tape.
Coming to the important bit, Kawasaki has opted out of using the Dunlop RoadSmart II’s on the motorcycles. These tyres were road and touring oriented and were meant for longevity. Now, the 650 twins will ride on Dunlop Sportmax D214 tyres, similar to what is seen on the Z800. These tyres are more rounded and will offer more cornering grip.
