Kawasaki has slashed the price of the Ninja 650 in commemoration of the company’s 120th anniversary. The price has now dropped from Rs 5.37 lakh to Rs 4.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) translating into a direct cash discount of Rs 40,000.
The Kawasaki Ninja 650 has been popular among the touring enthusiasts in the country, ever since it went on sale back in 2011. Powered by 649cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine mated to a six-speed cassette type gearbox, the Ninja 650 is one of the most practical and versatile big bikes you can buy. Apart from this, the Ninja 650 also comes with the Kawasaki’s strong sales and service back up and bulletproof reliability that Japanese motorcycles are well known for.
However here is the catch. The cash discount is only applicable for the Ninja 650 models manufactured in 2015. So essentially, this scheme has been rolled out to clear the old stock of the motorcycle. Kawasaki recently launched the 2016 Ninja 650 in India complete with a flashier paint scheme and Dunlop Sportmax D214 tyres, though this model won’t be available with the discount. Nevertheless, Rs 40,000 off the sticker can be considered to be a good deal for the 2015 Ninja 650, which should make it accessible to a wider range of audience.
