Kawasaki India has announced a discount of Rs 30,000 on the Ninja 650. The company says that this offer is applicable on a limited number of stocks and is valid until 31 March only. Kawasaki calls it the good times voucher that is redeemable against the ex-showroom price of Rs 7.16 lakh at authorised dealers across India. Following the discount, the Ninja 650 costs Rs 6.86 lakh.
The Ninja 650 features a sporty design that borrows design cues from some of the other bikes in the Kawasaki Ninja family. The sharp fairing, large fuel tank and stubby tail section give it a unique appearance, and while it does look sporty the riding position isn’t committed.
Powering the bike is a 649cc, parallel-twin engine that develops 67bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm. It has a six-speed gearbox.
In terms of features, you’ve LED lighting, a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and Kawasaki recently introduced a traction control system on the bike.
Coming to the chassis, the Ninja 650 has a steel trellis frame with a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. The bike is known to offer a good balance between ride and handling. However, its 130mm ground clearance and the underbelly exhaust are a cause for concern while negotiating poor roads or extra tall speed breakers.
The Kawasaki Ninja 650 goes up against the Honda CBR650R and the upcoming Triumph Daytona 660.
