It is finally out! The prices of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 and its track- spec version, the H2R, have been announced for the US market. The Ninja H2 will retail for $25,000 (Rs 15.4 lakh) and the track-spec Ninja H2R will burn your pocket by $50,000 (Rs 31 lakh).
The price of the H2R is double than that of the H2 because of sole reason – 300bhp. However, an interesting development has taken place at the Japan HQ, who now claims that the exact power figures of the H2R now stands at 325bhp. Kawasaki wants to keep the H2R as exclusive as possible as they believe there is nothing on the road that comes close to the H2R and we second them. Also, if you want to buy an H2R, you can’t just walk into a showroom and take one home, you need to place an order and then one will be shipped from its factory in Japan.
Both the bikes are powered by the 998cc inline-four engine that has been borrowed from the ZX-10R, however, the H2 churns out 197bhp at 11,00rpm – almost 125bhp less than the H2R. But the H2 makes more sense if only road riding is in your mind, plus it gets a warranty from Kawasaki unlike the H2R, where there is no warranty provided.
There is no information of the Ninja H2 or the H2R, whether it will make its way to the Indian shores, but knowing India Kawasaki Motors, who launched the Z1000 soon after its global debut, there is a high chance of the H2 being seen on Indian roads, soon.
