Kawasaki India has expanded its lineup quite a bit with the launch of multiple motorcycles over the past few months. Moreover, the brand currently sells two of the most expensive 400cc bikes in the country – the Ninja ZX-4RR and the Ninja ZX-4R. But what is different between the two motorcycles? Here’s the answer.
Power
Although both models use the same 399cc four-cylinder engine and get the same six-speed gearbox, the Ninja ZX-4RR makes 80bhp and 39Nm whereas the Ninja ZX-4R belts out 77bhp and 37.6Nm. The power difference between these variants is marginal.
Hardware
Kawasaki has offered the 4RR with 37mm Separate Function Big Piston Front USD forks and a linked rear monoshock with preload adjustability. The 4R on the other hand comes with SFF-BP forks and a monoshock but these aren’t adjustable.
Price and Colours
Both bikes are offered in a single paint scheme only, but the Ninja ZX-4RR gets a Lime Green paint scheme with KRT graphics, making the bike look very sporty and appealing whereas the 4R comes draped in a black colour, giving it a stealth appearance. The asking price for the Ninja ZX-4RR is Rs. 9.10 lakh and the Ninja ZX-4R costs Rs. 8.49 lakh. So, the RR trim costs Rs. 61,000 more.
Apart from that, both bikes look the same on the design front, use the same braking hardware, and share the same features too. The premium that you pay for the Ninja ZX-4RR gets you slightly more power, adjustable springs, and a different paint scheme.
