Kawasaki is likely to introduce the new Ninja ZX-6R at the India Bike Week 2023. So before it makes its way to the country, here is all that you can expect from the supersport motorcycle.
Updated design
The most noticeable change to the new Ninja ZX-6R is the styling. While the older version was aggressive, the new-gen model takes things a level higher in terms of sharpness. The front end is reminiscent of the first-gen ZX-6R thanks to the large RAM air intake between the LED headlamps that are in line with the other motorcycles in the Ninja range.
That said, the rear end is only slightly changed but continues to be sharply styled. Well, Kawasaki is offering the motorcycle in KRT colours and Black as well as a silver and red colour scheme. The Japanese brand also introduced the Anniversary Edition internationally which consists of a white, green and blue paint scheme. However, it is unlikely for Kawasaki to bring in the ZX-6R in that paint to India.
New features
Apart from the LED headlight unit, Kawasaki has also tweaked other features on the Ninja ZX-6R. It now gets a Bluetooth-compatible TFT screen that comes with call and SMS notifications as well as navigation updates. The Ninja also offers four riding modes- Rain, Road, Sport, and rider-adaptable as well as traction control and dual-channel ABS.
Inline-four screamer engine
Powering the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 636cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine producing 129bhp at 13,000rpm and 69Nm at 10,800rpm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and a two-way quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
Updated cycle parts
The hardware setup of the Ninja ZX-6R consists of Showa Separate Function forks (SFF-BP) and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear. It offers rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustability as well for added usability on a racetrack. Then, the braking hardware includes 310mm dual front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.
Price expectation
With the updates to its features, styling and hardware, we can expect Kawasaki to demand a price higher than the previous Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom tag. It could be priced close to Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom. IN terms of competition, the Ninja ZX-6R will go upa against the Honda CBR650R in the country.
