- Likely to be launched by the end of this year or early 2024
- Will feature an updated design and more features
- Could be priced at around Rs. 12 lakh
Our dealer sources have revealed that the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R’s India launch has been pushed back to the end of 2023 or early 2024. The reason for this hasn’t been revealed yet. However, the upcoming Japanese supersport will feature notable updates compared to its predecessor in terms of features, design, and hardware.
On the design front, the new Kawasaki ZX-6R looks just as aggressive as before but the fascia has been tweaked. Its headlight appears slightly curved, unlike the older model. The setup is topped by a transparent visor and the overall bodywork for the ZX-6R is quite sharp. Even the features list has been updated for the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. It gets smartphone connectivity, ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain or Rider), LED illumination, traction control, and a full TFT screen.
Powering the new ZX-6R is a 636cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine dishing out 129bhp at 13,000rpm and 69Nm at 10,800rpm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox and a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The hardware setup of the 6R consists of USD Separate Function forks (SFF-BP) and a gas-charged monoshock. It features rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustability as well. Then, the braking hardware includes 310mm dual front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. These come mounted on 17-inch wheels shod to a 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyre.
The last known asking price for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was Rs. 11 lakh and we expect the new model to be priced around Rs. 12 lakh (all ex-showroom, Delhi).
