- Updated Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R to be launched in a week
- Powered by a 636cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine
- Likely to cost around Rs. 12 lakh
Kawasaki India is set to launch not one but a handful of new motorcycles at the India Bike Week 2023. While one of them could be the Eliminator 450, we think the Japanese brand could finally launch the latest Ninja ZX-6R as well.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was set to debut earlier after the brand launched the ZX-4R. However, the middleweight supersport’s debut was delayed by a bit and is now likely to happen in a few days. The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R has a slightly curved fascia, but it looks sporty and sharp nonetheless. Then, like a thoroughbred track tool, it also gets low clip-on handles, rear-set footpegs and a committed rider triangle.
The ZX-6R is powered by a 636cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine belting out 129bhp at 13,000rpm and 69Nm at 10,800rpm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. Kawasaki has also offered other rider aids, including ride modes (Sport, Road, Rain or Rider), LED illumination, traction control, and ABS. Then, the latest iteration of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has also become tech-savvy since it now features a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity.
The hardware on the updated Ninja ZX-6R comprises USD Separate Function forks (SFF-BP) and a gas-charged monoshock. It gets rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustability as well. The braking hardware includes 310mm dual front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. These come linked to 17-inch wheels wrapped in a 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyre.
The asking price of the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R could be around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
