- Gets updated styling and a Euro-5-compliant engine
- Expected to be priced at around Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kawasaki recently unveiled the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R in India at the India Bike Week 2023. The company has now announced that the new Ninja ZX-6R will be launched in India on 1 January, 2024.
The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R features updated styling, while the engine complies with the latest Euro-5 emission norms. The motorcycle’s fascia has been revised slightly to resemble the Ninja ZX-10R’s design. That said, the rest of the bike's design is identical to the older model.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is powered by an updated 636cc, in-line four-cylinder motor that pumps out 129bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 69Nm at 10,800rpm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. It gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard, while other rider aids include a traction control system, dual-channel ABS, riding modes, and more.
Suspension duties on the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R are taken care of by Showa Separate Function forks up front and a gas-charged monoshock at the back. The suspension is fully adjustable for rebound, compression damping, and preload adjustment at both ends. Anchoring tasks are carried out by 310mm dual discs at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, wrapped in 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres.
As for its pricing, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is likely to be priced at Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the motorcycle will rival the Aprilia RS 660 in India.
