Kawasaki India has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Ninja ZX-10R. The latest iteration of the litre-class supersport motorcycle has been launched at an ex-showroom (India) price tag of Rs 14,99,000.
The BS6-compliant 998cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine is tuned to produce 200bhp (210bhp with RAM Air) of maximum power at 13,200rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 11,400rpm. A. The motor also benefits from the finger follower valve actuation system and a new air-cooled oil cooler based on feedback from Kawasaki’s World SBK race machine. The 2021 model will be available in two colours – Lime Green and Flat Ebony Type 2.
Apart from mechanical upgrades, the motorcycle also gets a revised design that is sharper than its predecessor. Other styling elements include an aerodynamic upper cowl, winglets built into the upper cowl, a new tail cowl design, updated handlebar and footpeg positions, and the Kawasaki River Mark. The revised styling is complemented by updated features such as all-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled TFT colour instrumentation. The console works with Kawasaki’s RIDEOLOGY THE APP.
Electronic aids on the 2021 model include electronic cruise control, traction control system, launch control, cornering management function, power modes, riding modes, engine brake control, ABS, Öhlins electronic steering damper, and a bidirectional quick-shifter. The hardware on the 2021 model includes an aluminium twin-spar frame, Showa BFF (Balance Free Front Fork), horizontal back-link rear suspension with Showa BFRC (Balance Free Rear Cushion) lite, and Brembo brakes.
