Kawasaki is going to launch the 2017 Ninja ZX-10RR in India on March 11. Produced in a limited run of just 1,000 units worldwide, the Ninja ZX-10RR is being promoted as the most track-focused production sportbike Kawasaki has ever made.
Powering the Ninja ZX-10RR is the same 998cc inline-four engine from the standard Ninja ZX-10R, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also retains the quick shifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts and a six-axis IMU. The IMU which maintains a leash over the traction control, electronic engine brake control, launch control and ABS. What set the Ninja ZX-10RR apart though, are the lightweight seven-spoke Marchesini wheels and sticky Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres. For those opting for the race kit, Kawasaki offers high lift cams, reinforced crankcase and an upgraded cooling system for the engine. With these upgrades, Kawasaki claims that the Ninja ZX-10RR is two seconds a lap faster than the standard bike at the Autopolis test track in Japan.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is available only as a single-seater in a black/white livery inspired by Kawasaki’s factory World Superbike (WSBK) team. We can expect it to be priced at around Rs 20 lakh. It will compete with other litre-class superbikes like the Yamaha YZF-R1, Aprilia RSV4 RR and the MV Agusta F4.
