Kawasaki has unveiled the new Ninja ZX-4RR for the international markets. Previously, we brought you a detailed image gallery of this motorcycle. Here, we bring you all the details about the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Styling
The styling cues are similar to the Ninja ZX-25R, and the new ZX-4RR packs elements such as a twin-pod headlight, full-fairing, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, fairing-integrated front turn indicators, and a split-style saddle. In the United States, this motorcycle is available in a single paint option – Lime Green/Ebony colour with Kawasaki Racing Team graphics. The ‘Kawasaki Racing Team' decal is visible on the fuel tank while the ZX-4RR sticker runs across the fairing. Now, unlike the Ninja ZX-25R, this motorcycle gets a side-slung exhaust instead of a compact unit. At the back, the Ninja ZX-4RR features a Ninja ZX-10R-inspired taillight.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Engine and Performance
The Ninja ZX-4RR is Kawasaki’s second sub-500cc inline four-cylinder powered product. The mechanical specifications of this motorcycle include a 399cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 16 valves (four valves per cylinder) and a Ram Air intake system. While the company has not revealed the power output figure, this motor makes a peak torque of 36Nm at 11,000rpm and redlines to 16,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission that benefits from a bidirectional quick-shifter and a slipper/assist clutch mechanism.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Features
The feature list is premium and the Ninja ZX-4RR comes equipped with LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled 4.3-inch colour TFT display that works with the Kawasaki Rideology smartphone application. Then, the electronic rider aids comprise four riding modes (Sports, Road, Rain, and Rider), two power modes (full and low), a three-level traction control system, and ABS.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: Hardware
In terms of hardware, the Ninja ZX-4RR is built around a trellis frame and uses 37mm upside-down Showa SFF-BP front forks and a rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The front forks are adjustable for preload only, while the rear features adjustability for compression, rebound, and spring preload. Meanwhile, the braking hardware on this product comprises twin 290mm discs at the front and a single 220mm rotor at the back. Then, the 17-inch alloy wheels will come shod in 120/70-section front and 160/60-section rear tyres.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR: India Launch, Rivals and Pricing Expectations
The Ninja ZX-4RR is already available in select international markets. This motorcycle is currently available in the United States at USD 9,699 (Rs 7.93 lakh). The Indian launch of the Ninja ZX-4RR seems unlikely as it will demand a very premium price in our market. The 2023 Ninja 400, which is already available in the Indian market, retails at Rs 5,14,000 (ex-showroom, India). While the Ninja ZX-4RR may not arrive in India, it will rival the likes of the Honda CBR650R and Yamaha YZF-R7 in the international markets. The motorcycle comes with a 12-month warranty as standard, while buyers can opt for up to 48 months of optional extended warranty.
