Kawasaki India has commenced deliveries of its middleweight supersport offering, the Ninja ZX-6R. The first bike was delivered in Mumbai recently.
The manufacturer launched the motorcycle in the country in January with a price tag of Rs 10.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) whereas pre-bookings had begun back in October 2018. The Ninja ZX-6R is a full-fledged track-focused machine and offers a committed riding position. It gets aggressive styling borrowed from the bigger Ninja ZX-10R. The bike is powered by a 636cc, inline-four cylinder engine that produces 126bhp at 13,500rpm and 70.8Nm at 11,000rpm. Kawasaki has equipped the bike with a Kawasaki anti-lock Brake System (KIBS), traction control and quickshifter.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has been brought to India via the completely knocked down (CKD) route and is only available in the Kawasaki Racing Team colour. The bike currently does not have a direct competitor in the Indian market, however, in terms of pricing it finds a rival in its sibling, the Ninja 1000 which is priced at Rs 9.99 lakhs and the Triumph Street Triple RS priced at Rs 11.13 lakhs. (Both prices ex-showroom, India).
