Kawasaki has patented a new 250cc single-cylinder naked motorcycle in Europe that is rumoured to be called the ER-2n. This makes us believe us that the Japanese maker is preparing a naked version of the recently unveiled Ninja RR Mono, also called as the Ninja 250SL in some markets.
The leaked patent picture carries most of the design cues from the Ninja RR Mono. Most of the parts like the wheels, exhaust, brake disc, seat, rear view mirrors, frame, and fuel tank are identical to the ones found in the Ninja RR Mono. This new naked motorcycle will sit below the Z250 in Kawasaki’s global product portfolio and will be sold in Indonesia.
This new 250cc naked is expected to get the same single cylinder engine that powers the Ninja RR Mono. It is fuel-injected and churns out 27bhp at 9,700rpm and has a maximum torque of 8,200rpm. The Ninja RR Mono weighs 151 kg, so we can expect the naked version to be lower than this, giving it a better power to weight ratio.
If you are one of those customers who would like to own this new naked single-cylinder Kawasaki in India, then probably your wait could be a prolonged one. You can, however, wait for the Kawasaki Z250, which will be launched in India soon.
