- Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Z H2 recalled
- Close to 3,000 bikes affected
- No recall issued in India yet
Kawasaki has issued a recall for multiple bikes in the H2 range in the USA. While we already reported about the H2 SX being affected, the recall also affects the Ninja H2, Ninja H2 Carbon, as well as the Z H2 and Z H2 SE.
The recall affects around 3,000 motorcycles manufactured from 1 December 2014 to 27 September 2023 that could be at risk of an engine stall while riding. This issue comes from the plunger in the camshaft chain tensioner which is likely to lock up due to deterioration of parts. One of the signs for the issue is an abnormal noise from the right side of the engine.
Kawasaki has stopped sales at all its dealerships from 9 December and all affected motorcycles will be fitted with replacements for the camshaft chain tensioner and gasket. That said, Kawasaki has already using a different tensioner since November. The company also claims that owners who may have paid to fix related issues may be eligible to receive full or partial reimbursement too.
The Japanese manufacturer has not issued a recall for the Ninja H2 range in India as of now. However, we recommend visiting your nearest dealership and checking your motorcycle for the issue.
