Kawasaki has released a new sketch of their next supercharged motorcycle – the SC 01, where SC stands for Spirit Charger.
The Japanese manufacturer teased us with this new concept at the ongoing 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. While our first reaction was that it didn’t look as insane as the Ninja H2 and the Ninja H2R, this concept showcases Kawasaki’s next-generation design language.
As per some rumours, if and when the SC 01 goes into production, it might be called the Ninja S2. Kawasaki says that this bike is not designed for extreme performance like the H2 and will be more focused towards everyday riding. If it makes into production, the SC 01 will be powered by a four-cylinder balanced supercharged engine. The Japanese manufacturer says that it will retain the performance of a forced induction engine but provide increased fuel economy thanks to electronically controlled flaps at the supercharger entrance allowing the volume of intake air and airflow direction to be adjusted for increased efficiency.
Looks like Kawasaki is putting a lot of energy in developing supercharged motorcycles. Do they see this as the latest norm or are they just proving they are the best?
