Kawasaki India is in the process of strengthening its after-sales service. It plans to increases its service reach along with the quality of service before it goes ahead with the aggressive product launches.
Currently, the Japanese manufacturer sells its bikes in two ways – through Bajaj Pro Biking showrooms and also through their exclusive showrooms. While the former showroom also includes KTM range and sells only completely-knocked down (CKD) units, the latter sells the entire line-up. Kawasaki isn’t happy with the way their bikes are displayed and sold through Pro Biking showrooms. When it comes to showroom branding as well, the Japanese manufacturer is hardly seen in these showrooms.
In order to increases its sales and market share, Kawasaki plans to open service centres in some cities. The thought being a customer who buys from another city needs to ride down to the same city for service. Kawasaki plans to end that by opening service centres in Tier 1, Tier 2 cities. In this way, the company will be able to cater to its customers properly. There have also been rumours about Kawasaki parting its way from Bajaj. It won’t be a surprise if this happens because for CKD models, Bajaj and its dealers take massive commissions, making the Kawasaki products look very expensive, especially the Ninja 300.
The company recently showcased the W800 at Pune dealership to gauge market response. There will be a couple of modern retro motorcycle launches in the next one year by the company.
