Kawasaki has updated its off-road and motocross line-up in the international market by unveiling the new 2018 models. Under the off-road category, Kawasaki has updated the entire KLX range in the international market along with the KX range of motocross bikes. In India, we have four models – the KLX 110, KLX 140G, KX 100F and KX250F. Currently, Kawasaki India has pulled off the KLX 140G, KX 100F and KX 250F from its official website citing unavailability of stock, thereby indicating that preparations for the new model is underway.
The 2018 Kawasaki KLX 110 gets an 112cc air-cooled, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a four-speed transmission with automatic clutch. The bike gets fresh graphics for that sporty appeal on the lime green body. Meant for kids, the bike gets a low seat height of 26.8-inch. The 2018 KLX 140G targeted at amateur dirt riders, gets a 144cc 4-stroke, 1-cyclinder, SOHC air-cooled engine mated to a five-speed return shift transmission. Kawasaki claims that the KLX 140G is about 30 pounds (approx. 14kgs) lighter than its competitors.
Moving over to competition motocross bikes, the KX 100F will likely be replaced by the 2018 KX 100 which is powered by a 99cc 2-stroke 1-cylinder, piston reed valve, water-cooled engine. The performance focused engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission. The bike offers a six-position adjustable handlebar mount and adjustable suspension components. The 2018 KX 250F gets an updated cylinder head, intake cam and revised compression ratio that claims to offer more torque and power figures. Moreover, the 2018 model also gets lightweight race-team-inspired bridged-box bottom piston that optimizes combustion efficiency while reducing friction.
Kawasaki Z in the international market will also receive an upgrade in three trims namely – Z125 Pro, Z125 Pro KRT edition and the Z125 Pro SE.
