- 2022 Versys 1000 unveiled
- Base model reintroduced
- India launch likely next year
Kawasaki has pulled the wraps off the 2022 Versys 1000. For the new year, the company has brought back the base model of the Versys 1000 that was discontinued.
This base Versys 1000 doesn’t get all the bells and whistles. The bike misses out on electronic suspension, riding modes, TFT screen and some more. But it continues to get the traction control system, ABS and full LED lights. As a result of this new change, the base Versys 1000 is quite a bit lighter than its other two variants – S and SE.
These two top-end models continue to get the top-spec features like quickshifter, LED cornering lights and also TFT instrument cluster. There’s also the option to equip the bike with Showa’s Skyhook electronically adjustable suspension.
In terms of power, the bike continues to get its power from 1043cc inline-four cylinder engine that churns around 120bhp and peak torque of 102Nm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The other dimensions of bike remains the same.
We are expecting the base variant as well as the S variant to come to India early next year as completely built-up (CBU) units.
