Kawasaki is actively refreshing its portfolio by launching updated products one after another. Following the recent introduction of the 2020 Ninja 650, the Japanese bike maker has now launched the BS6-compliant version of its litre-class adventure tourer, the Versys 1000. For the prospective buyers of the bike, here are four things you should know.
Unchanged performance
The 1,043cc, in-line four cylinder motor of the Versys has been revised in accordance with BS6 emission norms. In spite of having more constrained emissions, the performance of the powerplant has remained unhindered. It continues to pump out 118.2bhp and 102Nm of peak torque. The six-speed gearbox is assisted by a slipper clutch.
Modern features
The Versys 1000 BS6 comes equipped with all the essential features which make it an ideal touring machine. With a five-axis Bosch IMU system, it gets cruise control, two power modes, cornering ABS, traction control and three riding modes. The motorcycle also gets a tall windscreen which gets automatic adjustability option.
Appealing design
The Versys 1000 already boasts of an appealing design and Kawasaki has kept it unchanged with the BS6 update. It exudes an intimidating demeanor with a bold and pointed front fascia, muscular tank shrouds, a 21 litre sculpted fuel tank and a long tail section with a sturdy carrier. It is available in two colour options including ‘Candy Lime Green’ and ‘Metallic Spark Black.’
Minimal price hike
Kawasaki has hiked the price of the Versys 1000 BS6 by Rs 10,000 over its BS4 counterpart which is minimal considering it’s a premium motorcycle. The adventure tourer now costs Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the motorcycle are open at all Kawasaki dealerships across India.
