Kawasaki has updated the Versys 1000 with a new paint scheme for the Indian market. Introduced as a 2016 model year update, this metallic raw titanium shade is offered alongside existing black paint scheme at no additional cost.
This new paint scheme was globally introduced last year, though deliveries in the Indian market started quite recently. The semi-fairing of this bike comes painted in a metallic titanium shade which constrasts beautifully with the rest of the blacked-out components. Mechanically, the 2016 Versys 1000 is identical to the older model and comes with the same 1043cc inline four engine, which produces 118bhp and 101Nm of torque.
Earlier this year, Kawasaki had also introduced the Ninja 300 with a new race-livery paint scheme inspired by the 30th Anniversary livery. Even this special edition model continues with its old price tag of Rs 3.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the new livery does give the bike a different look, it is high time Kawasaki launched the bike with an ABS system like the one offered in the global-spec Ninja 300. This however, might further escalate the price of the already pocket-heavy supersport motorcycle.
