Kawasaki recently launched two of its 1100cc offerings in the international market - Ninja 1100 SX and the Versys 1100. While we have already talked about the Ninja, we will now tell you what we know about the ADV.
Design
Even though the Kawasaki Versys now packs a larger engine and a new suffix to its name, the bike essentially looks the same. It sports the same split LED headlight with the adjustable visor above. The boomerang-shaped cladding around the fuel tank, split seat, and the cornering lights too are the same as before.
Features
Along with the LED lights, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 packs traction control, cornering ABS, power modes, riding modes, a quickshifter, and a TFT to toggle through all the options.
Engine
Powering the Kawasaki Versys 1100 is a new 1,099cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 133bhp and 112.5Nm. The output figures are higher than before and so is the engine capacity. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Hardware
For the Versys 1100, Kawasaki has also retained the chassis from the litre-class model. It gets the Showa electronic semi-active suspension for the SE trim whereas the base model uses the manually adjustable ones. Its brakes comprise dual 310mm front and a single 260mm rear disc mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.
Expected Price
Kawasaki could price the Versys 1100 around Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and could debut soon in India.
