Kawasaki launched the Versys 650 BS6 in India recently with a price tag of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). However, around the same price, Kawasaki also offers two other motorcycles. Here is what the list looks like.
While the Versys is an adventure tourer, the Ninja 650 is positioned as a sports touring motorcycle. It will cost you Rs 6.24 lakh. The Ninja 650 gets an aggressively styled fairing with split LED headlamps. Further complimenting its sharp design language is the muscular fuel tank and upswept tail section. Powering the Ninja 650 is the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine as the Versys 650. However, the motor has been tuned to suit the Ninja’s character as churns out 66.4bhp and 64Nm.
The W800 is on the other end of the spectrum of motorcycles. It is inspired by the retro Kawasaki W1 which was sold in the ‘60s and comes adorned with loads of chrome and a proper classic appeal. However, the Kawasaki W800 gets modern features like full-LED lighting, a small LCD screen fitted in the twin-pod instrument cluster, and a dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle uses a 773cc, parallel-twin motor that is capable of churning out 47bhp of power and 62.9Nm of torque. Kawasaki has priced the W800 at Rs 6.99 lakh.
