The Kawasaki Versys X-300 has made another appearance doing its test run after a long time. This test bike was seen somewhere in the southern region and could be out for an endurance run.
We saw the Kawasaki Versys X-300 test mule in person a few months ago. It dons a thoroughbred rugged bodywork suitable for long-distance touring as well as mild off-roading. The Versys X-300 gets a tall stance with a butch-looking front profile. It comprises a halogen headlight topped by a transparent visor. The Versys comes with a tubular handlebar and a scooped single piece seat. However, compared to the previous spy shots, the recent ones show the Versys X-300 with a hard-case pannier setup too. So, you can expect it as an optional accessory.
Powering the Versys X-300 is a 296cc parallel-twin cylinder engine. It makes 39bhp and 26.1Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. These are the power figures for the international spec bike and we expect the Indian model to get the same.
The Versys X-300 uses halogen illumination, ABS, and a side-stand cut-off sensor on the feature-front. That said, it’s pretty barebones on this front. The baby Versys’ hardware comprises telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the braking duties are done by a front and rear disc mounted on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel wrapped in 100/90 front and 130/80 rear tyres.
Kawasaki has been testing the Verys X-300 in India for a while now. This means it could get a good amount of localisation, ideally bringing the costs down. Kawasaki could price it around Rs. 4.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
