The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is the most affordable twin-cylinder adventure touring bike one can buy in India. But with a price tag of Rs 4.6 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai Delhi), it’s not really affordable. In fact, it is the most expensive bike in the 300cc segment and that makes it compete with a few middle-weight bikes.
The Ninja 300 is the closest rival for this adventure touring bike, at Rs 3.6 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motor on the Versys-X 300 is from the Ninja 300, but in a different state of tune. For laid back riders, there’s the Harley-Davidson Street 750 at Rs 5.05 lakhs and it gets ABS as standard too. Moving up, there’s the Benelli TNT 600i which is known for its incredible sound. This bike retails at Rs 5.46 lakhs (ex-showroom). Fully-faired buyers can also look at the Hyosung GT650R, but it’s an old bike and the Rs 5.20 lakhs (ex-showroom) pricing isn’t justified anymore.
Interestingly, at this price range, Kawasaki has a lot of other products. There’s the Kawasaki Z650 at Rs 5.10 lakhs and the Ninja 650 at Rs 5.36 lakhs. For those who love to go off the road, Kawasaki has the KX100F and the Kawasaki KLX 140G which are priced at Rs 4.95 lakhs and Rs 4.14 lakhs (ex-showroom) respectively.
