Kawasaki has issued a recall for the Versys-X300 adventure motorcycle for a loose tail light socket. This may result in the bulb falling out of the loose socket, thus making it difficult for other motorists to spot the bike at night. It would also mean that the brake lights won’t light up even in the day, posing a big safety hazard to the riders.
The recall has affected 1900 units of the bike, and Kawasaki will replace the tail light socket free of charge. The Kawasaki Versys- X300 is built on a new chassis but uses the same 296cc parallel twin motor from the Ninja 300. This engine generates the same amount of power as the latter, but has been tuned to suit its touring needs. The gearbox is a six-speed one with a slipper clutch.
Kawasaki is expected to launch the Versys-X300 in India by the festive season or by early next year. The bike will compete against the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan FI and the BMW G310 GS.
